Cornbread the Legend leaves his mark in Scottsdale, AZ at American Fine Art.
While visiting American Fine Art in Old Town Scottsdale's Arts District legendary graffiti writer and tagger Cornbread leaves his indelible mark. Now proudly featured on the south side of the building is Cornbread's iconic tag "Cornbread The Legend 1965"
Cornbread is widely considered a major pioneer in the modern graffiti movement, which reached its peak in America by the early 1980’s before spreading internationally. A simple desire to build a reputation through his name would result in Cornbread’s contributions to the history of graffiti and hip-hop culture and a platform that he would later use to speak publicly and advocate for youth. While Cornbread is a well known name in Philadelphia where it all began he is recognized, as he often tags, on the World Stage.
Cornbread's adornment of American Fine Art's exterior is no coincidence. The legend was in town to preview the collection of acclaimed street artist AtZ and write an introduction for the first ever catalogue raisonne book for the artist.
As Cornbread states in his introduction, "The real difference between all the other great graffiti art and AtZ is the overwhelming feeling of positivity that flows out of each piece." He was blown away by the creative force that he experienced at the gallery concluding by saying: "Street art and graffiti are in good hands for the next generation with artists like AtZ leading the way, experimenting
with bold new ideas, techniques, and mediums."
Stop by the gallery to see this incredible collection, AtZ Out of The Box, and the fresh tag from Cornbread The Legend.
