Lord Crosby
(English b. 1961)
"Glass is such a fantastic, fluid art medium. I enjoy experimenting using new methods and techniques with the challenge of making something totally different and unique."
Lord Crosbie is one of the highly talented master designers of our American Fine Art Glass. For over 30 plus years, Lord Crosbie has been developing his skills as a professional in hot glasswork. Born in Blackpool, England Crosbie did most of his training on the small island of Murano. He went on to receive formal training at the Venetian glass Company from Italy after they opened a studio in Blackpool. While training with the masters at the Venetian glass Company, Crosbie developed his fundamental skills for glassblowing rooted in traditional Venetian glass art.
Crosbie’s work has been exhibited in the United States and through out the world and is recognized for its high quality, distinctive style, and unique design. Crosbie, as an artist is always learning and evolving his skills and techniques. His process of work is all on his own as a one-man studio. He works hands on imagining the design then personally shaping and creating the shape and flow of the molten glass into his one of a kind glass creations.
Much of Crosbie’s inspiration comes from the great masters of glass art such as, William Morris, Venini, and Franco Toffolo. Crosbie is most recognized for his mesmerizing glass jellyfish. He captures the movement, grace, and beauty of the jellyfish in the solid glass form. Crosbie collaborated with us on the jellyfish to create the only Magique Jellyfish and 24kt gold landscapes. Along with the Magique Jellyfish, Crosbie personally created an installation for American Fine Art Edition, Inc. called Fall Harvest. With a cornucopia of hand blown glass objects with undulating vines and delicate fall leaves; inspired by the autumnal beauty and deep jewel toned hues of nature. Crosbie is continuing to dazzle and inspire the fine art world with his expert hand blown art today.
