Jean Jacques Balitran

(French, 1930)

Jean-Jacques Balitran became an established artist producing paintings, prints, drawings, and watercolors of scenes and portraits. He did some of his work in a more traditional style, and some of his pieces embrace and blend the exciting, contemporary cutting-edge ideas of his time. Artists Vladimir Andreenkov, Adamie Alariaq, Robert Ryman, André Adam, and Onesimo Anciones were contemporary artists of his generation.

He was born in 1930 and predominantly creatively inspired by the 1930s, the political atmosphere of which involved many ideologies, such as Marxist Socialism, Capitalist Democracy, and the Totalitarianism of both Communism and Fascism, struggling for dominance.
